TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY, EDUCATION, AND SUPPORT FOR THE LITERARY COMMUNITY THROUGH CRAFT PROGRAMS, OPEN MICS, AND OPPORTUNITY FOR WRITERS TO SHOWCASE THEIR WORK. ADDITIONALLY, STRAW DOG WRITERS GUILD SUPPORTS WRITERS BY PAYING PRESENTERS, FACILITATORS, AND FEATURED READERS. THE FOLLOWING EVENTS TOOK PLACE DURING THE FISCAL YEAR:* TEN PROGRAMS ON DEVELOPING THE WRITER'S CRAFT; AVERAGE ATTENDANCE 25, SO 250 PEOPLE SERVED OVER THE YEAR.* AUTHOR SHOWCASE, ANNUAL EVENT SHOWCASING PUBLISHED MEMBERS OF SDWG: ONE EVENT; 80 PEOPLE ATTENDED. * WRITERS NIGHT OUT - 12 MONTHLY OPEN MICS AND FEATURED READERS SERIES IN NORTHAMPTON. AVERAGE ATTENDANCE 30; SO 360 PEOPLE SERVED OVER THE YEAR.* WRITERS READ - 12 MONTHLY OPEN MICS AND FEATURED READERS SERIES IN ASHFIELD. AVERAGE ATTENDANCE 20, SO 240 PEOPLE SERVED DURING THE YEAR.* POETRY CRITIQUE GROUP OFFERED TWICE MONTHLY, AVERAGE ATTENDANCE 7, SO 177 PEOPLE SERVED.* PROSE CRITIQUE GROUP OFFERED MONTHLY BEGINNING OCTOBER. IN ADDITION, DURING 2021 WE ESTABLISHED A WRITERS-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM WITH EDITH WHARTON'S THE MOUNT AND CHOSE NINE WRITERS TO RECEIVE RESIDENCIES FOR MARCH, 2022.
