HELP ACTIVE MILITARY, VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS INTO HEALING USING EQUINE ASSISTED SERVICES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

PARTNERED WITH THE MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY VERTERINARY PROGRAM AND MOVED TO THE MWU CAMPUS IN JULY 2015. COMPLETED A RESEARCH STUDY WITH 10 COMBAT VETERANS BRAIN MAPPING VETERANS BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER EQUINE THERAPY TO ESTABLISH EVIDENCE BASED MEDICING ANALYSIS. THE STUDY BEGAN IN JAN 2015 AND WAS COMPLETED IN APRIL 2016. CONTINUED SERVING THE VTERAN COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING EQUINE THERAPY AND PTSD EDUCATION. FIFTY VETERANS WERE SERVED WITH TWO EMERGENCY CLASSES CONDUCTED. THE ORGANIZATON GAVE TEN EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS AND APPEARED IN THREE RADIO INTERVIEWS. HRF SPONSORED A COMBAT VETERAN TO ATTEND THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR THE R4 ALLIANCE IN FLORIDA IN ORDER TO BUILD PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER NONPROFIT VETERAN ORGANIZATIONS. INCREASED THE NUMBER OF EQUINE THERAPISTS AT HRF TO EIGHT AND BEGAN TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS AT THE MWU CAMPUS PSYCHOLOGY.
