THE COLORADO GOVERNORS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM WAS FOUNDED TO IMPLEMENT THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF THE LEADERS INITIATIVE, WHICH WORKS AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT COMMUNITIES TO ENGAGE LEADERS IN APPLYING THEIR SKILLS ACROSS SECTORS. THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM OPERATES ON THE PREMISE THAT GOVERNMENT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS WHO IS IN IT, AND THAT THE BEST EXECUTIVES FROM THE PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECORS CAN ELEVATE THE BRAND OF GOVERNMENT BY APPLYING THEIR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO THE PUBLIC SECTOR. THROUGH A BLEND OF EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE, THE STATE'S BEST AND BRIGHEST LEADERS ENGAGE IN A NONPARTISAN 8-MONTH PROGRAM THAT WILL INSPIRE THEM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND DEFINE THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC SERVICE.SEE SCHEDULE OALUMNI FROM THE PROGRAM WILL FORM A NETWORK OF LEADERS WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE TO PUBLIC LEADERSHIP WITH DYNAMISM, INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE COMPLIMENTARY TO TRADITIONAL GOVERNMENT LEADERS.


THE FIRST STATEWIDE PROGRAM OF ITS KIND, THE CIVICO LEADERSHIP ACADEMY CORE PROGRAM IS A 9-MONTH LEADERSHIP JOURNEY DESIGNED TO BRING TOGETHER HIGHLY QUALIFIED COMMUNITY LEADERS WITH DIVERSE INTERESTS IN THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECTORS WITH SKILL TRAINING AND EXECUTIVE COACHING.


INSPIRED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM - THE HIGHEST CIVILIAN AWARD OF THE UNITED STATES THE COLORADO GOVERNOR'S CITIZENSHIP MEDALS HONOR COLORADO LEADERS WHO INSPIRE EXCELLENCE AND COMMUNITY SERVICE. BY EXECUTIVE ORDER B 2015010 FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, FIVE MEDALS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY ON A NONPARTISAN BASIS BY THE SITTING GOVERNOR ON BEHALF OF PAST GOVERNORS AND THE CITIZENS OF COLORADO. MEDALS INCLUDE: EMERGING COMMUNITY LEADER, GROWTH AND INNOVATION, PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY SERVICE, CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP, AND VANGUARD LEGACY.


SCHOLARSHIPS - REINVESTMENT OF A PORTION OF ALL MEMBERSHIP DUES INTO THE COMMUNITY AND PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL STUDENTS IN NEED.
