THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE MOBILE LAB COALITION (MLC) IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR MOBILE LAB PROGRAMS ACROSS THE U.S. IN FISCAL YEAR 2023, THE MLC HOSTED A DYANMIC 2-DAY VIRTUAL EVENT THAT BROUGHT TOGETHER 42 PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS THE NATION TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MOBILE LABORATORIES, INFORMAL STEM EDUCATION, AND BEST INDUSTRY PRACITICES. KEYNOTE SPEAKERS DR. ALBERTO VASQUEZ OF UCSD'S CREATE AND SEAN THATCHER OF CUNY COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND INSPIRED WITH TALKS ON EMBRACING COMMUNITY & INCLUSIVE DESIGN, WHILE CURTED SESSIONS ON EVALUATION AND CURRICULUM PROVIDED PRACTICAL INSIGHTS FOR PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT. THE EVENT BALANCED INFORMATIVE SESSIONS WITH INTEREACTIVE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING A SHOWCASE OF INNOVATIVE LABORATORY DESIGNS, & THE ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING FOR MEMBERS ONLY. LATER IN 2023 THE MLC OPENED APPLICATIONS FOR A NEW MEMBERS-ONLY EXPERIENCE, THE INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM, DESIGNED TO FOSTER KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AMONG MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. THROUGH THE PROGRAM, MLC MEMBERS SHADOW EXPERIENCED EDUCATORS AT HOST MLC ORGANIZATIONS, GAINING FIRSTHAND EXPOSURE TO INNOVATIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES. FULLY FUNDED BY THE MLC, THE PROGRAM COVERS EXPENSES SUCH AS TRAVEL, ACCOMODATIONS, MEALS, AND CONFERENCE REGISTRATION; FURTHER DEMONSTRATING MLC'S COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ITS MEMBERS. LASTLY, THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS ANNOUNCED TO BE HAPPENING FROM JULY 15TH-18TH 2024, IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA. HOSTED BY THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA (MUSC) AND GREENWOOD GENETIC CENTER, THIS EVENT IS A KEY GATHERING FOR PROFESSIONALS IN MOBILE STEM EDUCATION. THEMED ACCESS & INNOVATION IN MOBILE SCIENCE, THE CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE SESSIONS AT MUSC, A RECEPTION AT THE SOUTH CAROLINA ACQUARIUM, AND A MOBILE LAB RODEO AT THE CITADEL.
