TO PROVIDE NEEDED HOME REPAIR ASSISTANCE TO LOW-INCOME HOMEOWNERS IN DEPRESSED NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE GREATER KANSAS CITY METRO AREA.

DURING 2021, 54 HOMES WERE REPAIRED BY SOME 506 VOLUNTEERS FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. IN ADDITION TO HOME REPAIR, THE PROGRAM INCLUDES: (1) WORKING WITH NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS AND SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO BEST TARGET THE PROGRAM'S EFFORTS; (2) ENCOURAGING SUPPORT FROM LOCAL MATERIAL SUPPLIERS; AND (3) ENCOURAGING FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTORS TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFORTS OF VOLUNTEERS. THE VOLUNTEERS ACCOUNTED FOR 2,071 HOURS OF WORK. THE VALUE OF THE DONATED SERVICES DURING 2021 FOR THIS PROGRAM WAS 116,816. IN MARCH 2020, THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION DECLARED THE NOVEL STRAIN OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IS HAVING, AND WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO HAVE, SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ON GLOBAL MARKETS, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITIES. AS OF THE DATE OF ISSUANCE, THE ULTIMATE LENGTH AND SEVERITY OF THIS PANDEMIC CANNOT BE REASONABLY ESTIMATED. HOWEVER, DURING 2021 THE NUMBER OF HOME REPAIR EVENTS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY RESULTING IN A INCREASE IN OVERALL EXPENSES OF 41%. GRANT AND CONTRIBUTION SUPPORT DECREASED 30% IN 2021. MANAGEMENT WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE ORGANIZATION AND WILL REFLECT THE CONSEQUENCES, AS APPROPRIATE, IN THE ORGANIZATIONS FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
