THE MISSION OF THE TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION IS TO ADVANCE THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH LASTING RELATIONSHIPS, STRONG PRIVATE GIFT SUPPORT AND PRUDENT STEWARDSHIP.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS: SCHOLARSHIPS ARE PROVIDED FOR TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CRITERIA ESTABLISHED BY DONORS FOR THE VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS. FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022, THE FOUNDATION GRANTED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 551 STUDENTS.


HIGHER EDUCATION: FUNDS ARE DONATED TO THE FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF ACADEMIC AREAS AND INITIATIVES AT TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY, WHICH INCLUDES EXPENDITURES FOR OPERATING EXPENSES OF THE VARIOUS ACADEMIC UNITS, INSTITUTIONAL CAPITAL PROJECTS, ACADEMIC LEARNING EVENTS, AND SUPPLEMENTING OF THE BUDGETS FOR THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS PROVIDED BY THE UNIVERSITY. THE FOUNDATION ALSO OPERATES A STUDENT LOAN FUND WHICH MAKES LOANS ONLY TO TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO ASSIST THEM WITH THE COST OF ATTENDANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY.


ATHLETIC AND SPORTS PROGRAMS: FUNDS ARE DONATED TO THE FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF THE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AT TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY. THE FOUNDATION AND UNIVERSITY SUPPORT 18 SPORTS PROGRAMS AND APPROXIMATELY 369 STUDENT ATHLETES. THE SUPPORT FROM THE FOUNDATION IS USED FOR SUCH AREAS AS TEAM TRAVEL TO SPORTING EVENTS AND OTHER DIRECT EXPENSES OF THE SPORTS PROGRAMS.
