IOWA BANKERS ASSOCIATION WAS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE AND USEFULNESS OF BANKS AND BANKING INSTITUTIONS IN IOWA AND TO IMPROVE BUSINESS CONDITIONS FOR IOWA BANKS AND BANKERS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:SEE SCHEDULE O.PROVIDING CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS; DESIGNING AND IMPROVING FINANCING METHODS; PROMOTING SAFETY OF IOWA BANKS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES; SEEKING TO SECURE AND MAINTAIN CHANNELS FOR CONTINUING COOPERATION WITH IOWA AND FEDERAL SUPERVISORY AND REGULATORY AGENCIES; TO FURNISH USEFUL AND APPROPRIATE INFORMATION IN THE ENACTMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF BANKING LAWS; PUBLISH AND DISTRIBUTE PUBLICATIONS URGING THE USE OF COMMERCIAL BANKS AND SAVINGS INSTITUTIONS AS A WISE CHOICE AND TO PROMOTE PATRONAGE FOR IOWA BANKS; PROMOTE BANKING AS A CAREER; MONITOR IOWA BANK PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES AND ASSIST IN BANKING SERVICES; ESTABLISH RESEARCH FACILITIES AND ASSIST BANKS WITH PREPARING NEW BANKING DEVELOPMENTS; ENCOURAGE IOWA BANKS TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT; PROMOTE RELATIONSHIPS OF TRUST AND MUTUAL CONFIDENCE BETWEEN IOWA BANKS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES; PROMOTE UNIFORMITY OF AND INTERPRETATION OF CUSTOMS AND LAWS AFFECTING BANKING INSTITUTIONS OF IOWA; ENCOURAGE GOOD FELLOWSHIP AND INSURE CLOSER UNION AMONG IOWA BANKS; PROVIDE SERVICES TO IOWA BANKS DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY ON A NONPROFIT BASIS; AND ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION BY IOWA BANKERS IN ASSOCIATION COMMITTEES AND COORDINATE THE ACTIVITIES OF THOSE COMMITTEES IN ADDRESSING AND FORMULATING PLANS TO ENHANCE ASSOCIATION SERVICES TO IBA MEMBERS.
