THE MINNESOTA COUNCIL OF HEALTH PLANS IS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE THE OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATIONS AND HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA (COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS "MEMBERS"), FACILIATE DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC AND POLICY AND DECISION MAKERS REGARDING THE MEMBERS AND THEIR INDUSTRY, EDUCATE HEALTH CARE CONSUMERS AND PROVIDERS ABOUT HEALTH CARE SERVICES DELIVERED BY THE MEMBERS, ENHANCE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN AND AMONG THE MEMBERS, COORDINATE WITH PERSONS, ASSOCIATIONS, OR ORGANIZATIONS HAVING SIMILAR PURPOSES AND SUCH OTHER FACILITIES OR PROGRAMS AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE APPROPRIATE TO ACCOMPLISH THE ORGANIZATION'S NONPROFIT PURPOSE.
