THE OBJECTIVES OF THE LOCAL ARE TO ORGANIZE WORKERS, TO AID MEMBERS TO BECOME MORE SKILLFUL AND EFFICIENT WORKERS, TO PROMOTE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION, TO CULTIVATE FRIENDSHIP AMONG THE MEMBERS, TO PROMOTE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND RECOGNITION, TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SICK AND DEATH BENEFITS, TO SECURE IMPROVED WAGES, HOURS, WORKING CONDITIONS AND OTHER ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES, TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT AND TRAINING, TO SAFEGUARD AND PROMOTE THE PRINCIPLE OF FREE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING, TO PROTECT AND STRENGTHEN OUR DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS, TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE UNION AS AN INSTITUTION, TO PROTECT AND ENHANCE THE STATURE AND WELL-BEING OF WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND TO CREATE A MARKETPLACE IN WHICH AN ATMOSPHERE OF LABOR/MANAGEMENT COOPERATION WILL ENHANCE PROSPERITY FOR UNION EMPLOYERS.
