THE VISION OF THE BELOIT HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS TO MAKE HISTORY A FOCAL POINT OF COMMUNITY PRIDE AND TO SERVE AS A CONSTANT REMINDER TO THE COMMUNITY OF ITS GREAT AND DIVERSE HERITAGE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY COLLECTING AND SHARING HISTORIC RECORDS AND OBJECTS THROUGH A VARIETY OF METHODS INCLUDING EXHIBITIONS, PROGRAMMING, THE BHS WEBSITE AND NEWSLETTER.

OUR MAJOR PROGRAM SERVICE IS THE CARE AND HOUSING OF OUR COLLECTIONS AT OUR HEADQUARTERS BUILDING LINCOLN CENTER. THESE COLLECTIONS OF OBJECTS, BOOKS, PAPERS, ETC. FORM THE FOUNDATION OF ALL OTHER SERVICES AND PROGRAMMING WE PROVIDE. WE HANDLE HUNDREDS OF RESEARCH REQUESTS FOR GENEALOGICAL AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION. OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTIONS ARE VERY POPULAR AND USED WIDELY BY LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.A SECOND MAJOR PROGRAM SERVICE IS THE MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORICAL PLACES LISTED HANCHETT-BARTLETT HOMESTEAD.THE THIRD PROGRAM SERVICE WE PROVIDE IS PUBLIC EDUCATION. THIS IS MAINLY ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH EXHIBITS AT LINCOLN CENTER WHERE WE HAVE A ROTATING SERIES OF SMALL EXHIBITS DURING THE YEAR. WE ALSO HAVE ANNUAL PROGRAMS THAT FEATURE HISTORICAL TOPICS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO THE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP AND GENERAL PUBLIC. IN ADDITION, HOUSED IN THE LINCOLN CENTER IS THE SPORTS HALL OF FAME AND THE BELOIT CITY HALL OF FAME.
