TO SUPPORT, PROMOTE AND DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT GOVERNOR DODGE STATE PARK WISCONSIN, TO ENCOURAGE AND ENHANCE PARK USE BY MULTIPLE USER GROUPS, TO PROTECT AND ENHANCE PARK RESOURCES, TO EVALUATE PARK USE, AND TO SUGGEST IMPROVEMENTS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF WISCONSIN

THE FRIENDS HAVE BEEN FUNDRAISING TO BUILD A NEW EQUESTRIAN CAMPGROUND FOR THE PARK. PHASE II, WHICH IS THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE CAMPGROUND, WAS COMPLETED IN 2021 WITH OCCUPANCY TO OCCUR IN 2022. THESE EXPENSES INCLUDE ARCHITECT AND ENGINEERING FEES AS WELL AS CONSTRUCTION EXPENSES. FUNDRAISING CONTINUES TO OCCUR FOR PHASE III TO BUILD AN OPEN AIR SHELTER.

THE FRIENDS INITIATED A NEW PROGRAM FOR PARK VISITORS CALLED STORYWALK. THIS ENCOMPASSES A WALK-ALONG STORY ALONG A PATHWAY FOR VISITORS TO FOLLOW, GEARED TOWARD CHILDREN.
