THE WISCONSIN BUSINESS TRAVEL ASSOCIATION (WBTA) AGAIN HELD NUMBEROUS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT 2023. IN JANUARY 2023, GBTA HELD THEIR ANNUAL SILENT AUCTION AND TRAVEL CONFERENCE OVER A DAY AND A HALF AT THE AMERICAN CLUB IN KOHLER, WI. THE FIRST HALF DAY FEATURED SPEAKERS HANSINI SHARMA AND SHELLEY BROWN FOCUSING ON TRAVELER EXPERIENCE AND THE ART OF BELONGING, RESPECTIVELY. THE EVENING SILENT AUCTION WAS HELD TO RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AND ANNUAL CHARITABLE GIVING DONATIONS, AND THE ASSOCIATION RAISED OVER $10,000 FOR THOSE PROGRAMS. THE SECOND FULL-DAY FEATURED FOUR SPEAKERS, A PANEL DISCUSSION ATTENDED VIRTUALLY BY JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT STUDENTS, AND ACTIVE THREAT TRAINING SPEAKER TOPICS INCLUDED BEST IN CLASS PROGRAMS, ALL THE WORLD'S A COMMUNITY, SELF CARE AS A RESULT OF TRAVEL CHANGES. THE EVENT WAS ATTENDED BY 55 MEMBERS AND 27 GUESTS IN THE BUSINESS TRAVEL INDUSTRY FROM WISCONSIN, THE CHICAGO AREA, AND THE MINNEAPOLIS AREA. MARCH 2023 CHAPTER MEETING WAS HELD AT THE HYATT REGENCY MILWAUKEE. THE MEETING TOPIC WAS SUSTAINABILITY - BREAKING IT DOWN AND BUILDING IT UP, HOSTED BY THREE PANELISTS. 34 MEMBERS AND 14 GUESTS REGISTERED. OUR CHARITABLE GIVING RECIPIENT WAS UNITED WAY OF GREATER MILWAUKEE & WAUKESHA COUNTY FOR THEIR DIAPER BANK. IN MAY 2023 THE ASSOCIATION HELD ITS CHAPTER MEETING AT HEIDEL HOUSE IN GREEN LAKE. GUEST SPEAKER SHANE DOWNEY, VP OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS & VOLUNTEER RELATIONS FOR GBTA SPOKE ABOUT "BRINGING IT TO 2023" FOLLOWED BY DIRECT AND ALLIED MEMBER BREAKOUT SESSIONS. THERE WAS A SOCIAL HOUR AFTERWARD. 39 MEMBERS AND 12 GUESTS REGISTERED TO ATTEND. CHARITABLE GIVING RECIPIENT WAS EAA YOUNG EAGLES PROGRAM. THE SUMMER EVENT WAS HELD AT THE MADISON MALLARDS BASEBALL GAME. ATTENDANCE NUMBERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AS TICKETS WERE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM THE CLUB. IN SEPTEMBER 2023 THE ASSOCIATION HELD THEIR MEETING AT THE BROOKFIELD CONFERENCE CENTER. GUEST SPEAKER, THOMAS LYNN, PROVIDED AN INTERACTIVE BREAKOUT SESSION ON THE TOPIC OF BRIDGING THE BUYER/SUPPLIER GAP. 38 MEMBERS AND 10 GUESTS REGISTERED TO ATTEND. REDEEM AND RESTORE WAS OUR CHARITABLE GIVING PARTNER. OUR FINAL CHAPTER MEETING IN NOVEMBER 2023 WAS HELD AT THE AMERICAN FAMILY CONFERENCE CENTER. THE TOPIC FOR THIS MEETING WAS WHY NDC IS IMPORTANT...THE BREAKTHROUGH AND THE FUTURE. 41 MEMBERS AND 16 GUESTS REGISTERED TO ATTEND. AUTISM SOCIETY OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN WAS OUR CHARITABLE GIVING PARTNER.
