ONE OF THE MAIN GOALS OF THE IFTA IS TO EDUCATE THE MEMBERSHIP ON GROWING PRACTICES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY HOLDING AN ANNUAL MEETING IN ROCHESTER NY WITH ABOUT 400 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE.

THE IFTA PAYS AG ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LEVEL SERVICES TO THE BOARD AND THE ASSOCIATION. THE AMOUNT PAID TO THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY IS BROKEN INTO THREE AREAS: 1)MEMBERSHIP MANAGMENT, 2)ANNUAL MEETING PLANNING AND EXECUTION, 3)SUMMER STUDY TOUR PLANNING AND EXECUTION.

ANOTHER MAIN FOCUS OF THE IFTA IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THOSE THAT ARE CONDUCTING RESEARCH ON TOPICS OF VALUE TO THE IFTA MEMBERSHIP. THE AMOUNT THAT THE BOARD CONTRIBUTES TO THE FOUNDATION VARIES FROM YEAR TO YEAR AND COMES FROM CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE MEMBERSHIP AND FROM EXCESS FUNDS THAT THE IFTA MAY HAVE RECEIVED IN A GIVEN YEAR.
