THE LITTLE TRAVERSE HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS ORGANIZED TO PRESERVE, ADVANCE, AND DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY AREA. MAJOR FUNDRAISERS INCLUDE THE HISTORIC FESTIVAL, ICE CREAM SOCIAL, GIFT SHOP, AND TOURS. BECAUSE OF COVID RESTRICTIONS THERE WAS LIMITED ACCESS TO THE MUSEUM. TYPICALLY, THE MUSEUM HAS APPROXIMATELY 3,500 VISITORS A YEAR TOUR THE MUSEUM AND ANOTHER 1,100 FOR EVENTS AND SPECIAL TOURS. SO, IT IS ESTIMATED THERE ARE 4,500 AREA VISITORS AND LOCAL RESIDENTS THAT EXPERIENCE THE AREA'S UNIQUE AND VARIED HISTORY.
