THE LITTLE TRAVERSE HISTORICAL SOCIETY ENRICHES OUR COMMUNITY BY PRESERVING, SHOWCASING, AND SHARING THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY AREA. THE LITTLE TRAVERSE HISTORICAL SOCIETY WILL BE CONSIDERED A CULTURAL CORNERSTONE OF THE COMMUNITY BY BECOMING A HIGHLY VALUED RESOURCE FOR INFORMATION AND EDUCATION ON THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY AREA THOUGH EXPANDED PROGRAMMING, FACILITIES, AND ARCHIVES.

THE LITTLE TRAVERSE HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS ORGANIZED TO PRESERVE, ADVANCE, AND DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY AREA. MAJOR FUNDRAISERS INCLUDE THE CORN ROAST, ICE CREAM SOCIAL, GIFT SHOP, AND TOURS. TYPICALLY, THE MUSEUM HAS APPROXIMATELY 3,500 VISITORS A YEAR TOUR THE MUSEUM AND ANOTHER 1,100 FOR EVENTS AND SPECIAL TOURS. SO, IT IS ESTIMATED THERE ARE 4,500 AREA VISITORS AND LOCAL RESIDENTS THAT EXPERIENCE THE AREA'S UNIQUE AND VARIED HISTORY.
