HELP INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, YOUTH, BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS RESOLVE CONFLICT THROUGH A VARIETY OF METHODS INCLUDING MEDIATION, FACILITATIONS, TRANSFORMATIVE CONFERENCING AND TRAINING.

MEDIATION SERVICES: HELP PARTIES RESOLVE CONFLICT, MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT DIFFICULT SITUATIONS AND DEVELOP ACTION PLANS WHICH ARE MUTUALLY ACCEPTABLE TO ALL PARTIES BY PROVIDING ALTERNATIVES TO THE ESCALATION OF CONFLICT AND LENGTHY LITIGATION.


RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SERVICES: 1. TARGETS CONFLICT SITUATIONS IN SCHOOLS BY ENGAGING ALL AFFECTED PARTIES IN A PROCESS BY SEEKING TO REPAIR THE HARM FROM CONFLICT, VIOLENCE OR VIOLATIONS OF LAW. THE PROGRAM HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE 2005. 2. A DIVERSION PROGRAM FOR FIRST-TIME YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS ACCUSED OF MINOR INFRACTIONS, MOST OFTEN SCHOOL TRUANCY. THE PROGRAM ACCEPTS REFERRALS BY PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS AND LANSING POLICE DEPARTMENT. YOUTH OFFENDERS WHO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM CAN HAVE THEIR TICKET EXPUNGED. PARENTS OF OFFENDERS HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM. POST SATISFACTION SURVEYS GENERALLY HAVE HIGH POSITIVE RRESPONSE AND A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS HAVE NOT RECIDIVATED.
