BEREAVEMENT SERVICES: HOSPICE PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF BEREAVEMENT AND GRIEF COUNSELING SERVICES TO FAMILIES


PATIENT CARE: HOSPICE PROVIDES SPECIALIZED HEALTHCARE FOR INDIVIDUALS NEARING THE END OF THEIR LIVES. THE FOCUS OF PALLIATIVE SERVICES ON COMFORT RATHER THAN CURE. TO ENSURE THE BEST QUALITY OF LIFE, ALL NEEDS OF THE PATIENTS ARE ADDRESSED, BEGINNING WITH PHYSICAL COMFORT, FREEDOM FROM PAIN AND OTHER SYMPTOMS. THE EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL WELL BEING OF THE PATIENT ARE ALSO PRIMARY CONCERNS. IN 2021 HOSPICE SERVED 330 PATIENTS.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH: WINGS OF HOPE HOSPICE IS TRANSFORMING THE WAY THE COMMUNITY VIEWS DEATH AND DYING BY SHARPENING THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF HOSPICE. WE WANT EVERYONE IN ALLEGAN COUNTY TO APPRECIATE THE UNIQUE ROLE WINGS OF HOPE HOSPICE SERVES IN MEETING THE NEEDS OF END-OF-LIFE PATIENTS, AND TO CHOOSE HOSPICE EARLIER, SO THE BENEFITS TO THE PATIENT AND FAMILY CAN RESULT IN SUBSTANTIALLY IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR EVERYONE. AS THE AREA'S EXPERT IN PROVIDING CARE TO TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS, WE WILL EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY TO APPRECIATE HOSPICE AS A GIFT OF TIME, DIGNITY, COMFORT AND HOPE. OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS MEET WITH AREA BUSINESSES, CHURCHES, CIVIC GROUPS, NURSING HOMES, IN SHORT, WHEREVER WE CAN HELP UNDERSTAND DEATH, DYING, AND THE ROLE OF HOSPICE TO SUPPORT A MORE ABUNDANT LIFE FOR END OF LIFE PATIENTS.
