THE BROTHERHOOD OF ELDERS NETWORK IS AN INTERGENERATIONAL NETWORK OF MEN OF AFRICAN ANCESTRY WHO FOSTER ENVIRONMENTS WHERE BLACK BOYS AND YOUNG MEN ARE EMPOWERED TO FLOURISH. WE ADVOCATE FOR MALES OF AFRICAN ANCESTRY FROM INFANCY TO ADULTHOOD. WE LEVERAGE OUR RESOURCES AND RELATIONSHIPS TO BENEFIT BLACK BOYS.WE MAINTAIN AND PRESERVE THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF OUR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.

THE BROTHERHOOD OF ELDERS NETWORK MADE SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS ACROSS COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. WE ORGANIZED A 2-YEAR CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR 18 BLACK-LED BAY AREA ORGANIZATIONS. IN YEAR 1 WE HAVE A 100% SATISFACTION AND PARTICIPATION RATE. THROUGH OUR HEALING GENERATIONS PROGRAM WE HOSTED A FREE INTERGENERATIONAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS RETREAT FOR 35 BLACK MEN. WE LED GROUP ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHOPS THAT PROVIDED INFORMATION ON MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THROUGH OUR UBUNTU LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE WE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED OUR 1ST LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COHORT WITH 15 YOUNG BLACK MEN. OVER THE COURSE OF 18 MONTHS THE PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED WEEKLY WORKSHOPS DESIGNED TO BUILD UP THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS, INCREASE THEIR SENSE OF SELF WORTH, AND PREPARE THEM TO BE COLLEGE AND CAREER READY.
