THE ILLINOIS YOUTH INVESTMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES TARGETED LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT AND YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS. ITS SERVICES DELIVER A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO THE WORKFORCE ENVIRONMENT INCLUDING PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, JOB TRAINING, WORK-BASED LEARNING, SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, MENTORING, AND COACHING SERVICES TO YOUNG ADULTS AGES 18-24. IYIP FOCUSES ON EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING AND SELF-REGULATION SKILL DEVELOPMENT TO ENABLE PLANNING, MEMORY, AND MULTI-TASKING CAPABILITIES OF ITS YOUTH.
HOMELESS VETERAN'S REINTEGRATION PROGRAM (HVRP) PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING, AND HOUSING LINKAGE SERVICES FOR HOMELESS VETERAN POPULATIONS IDENTIFIED AS YOUNG ADULTS, WOMEN WITH CHILDREN, CHRONIC HOMELESS AND RECENTLY INCARCERATED. HVRP SERVES URBAN COMMUNITIES ON THE SOUTH AND WEST SIDE OF CHICAGO WHOSE COMMUNITIES RANGE FROM 20% - 50% BELOW POVERTY LEVELS AND EXPERIENCE 30% - 52% UNEMPLOYMENT RATES.
THE RAPID RE-HOUSING (RRH) PROGRAM IS A SHORT-TERM (MAXIMUM 12 MONTHS, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL 12 MONTHS) RENTAL SUBSIDY PROGRAM. IT WAS DESIGNED BY THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) TO SERVE HOMELESS FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF CHICAGO. OF COLOR INC. SERVES SIXTY FAMILIES IN HELPING THEM TO SECURE STABLE HOUSING TO AVOID HOMELESSNESS IN THE FUTURE.
