WE FUNDED THE ARBOR DAY EVENT AT STEWART PARK FOR $13,367. FOR THE FIRST TIME WE OFFERED A SWIMMING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AT A COST OF $4,680 DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF MINORITY AND IMMIGRANT CHILDREN THAT DIE OF DROWNING IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE HAVE ALSO HAD A "MINI-GRANT" PROGRAM FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS ENABLING A PARK DIRECTOR QUICKLY MOVE ON A PROJECT PRICED UNDER $500. WE HAVE CONTINUED TO FUND MINNEAPOLIS ARBOR DAY IN BOTH 2016 AND 2017 WITH $15,000 PER YEAR. OUR SWIMMING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM CONTINUES AND WE ALSO FUNDED GIRLS SPORTS, PARTICULARLY IN THE SOMALI COMMUNITY, WITH A GRANT OF JUST OVER $10,000. IN 2018 GRANTS TOTALING $74,104.00 WERE AWARDED TO PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE PARK SYSTEM. IN 2019, $17,085 TOTAL GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO LOGAN PARK PAVILION AND MINNEAPOLIS BIKE PARKS.
