CCBA CONDUCTS A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS THAT EDUCATE CHINESE IMMIGRANTS ABOUT US CITIZENSHIP, PROMOTE AND PRESERVE CHINESE HERITAGES AND CULTURAL TRADITIONS, AND MEET THE CHARITABLE NEEDS OF LOCAL CHINESE FAMILIES.

THE ASSOCIATION SPONSORS SEVERAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING COMMUNITY AFFAIRS PROGRAMS, INCLUDING SENIOR CITIZENS CARE, AND THE NEW YEAR'S DAY CHINATOWN PARADE (5000 - 8000 PARTICIPANTS ). THE ASSOCIATION MAINTAINED A NUMBER OF FREE SOCIAL SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC , INCLUDING LIBRARY, FREE HEALTH CLINIC; CHINESE AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING FOR YOUTH AND NEW IMMIGRANTS (400 - 500 STUDENTS); HEALTH CARE WORKSHOP. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO ORGANIZES CLASSES FOR CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION, FOOD SANITATION, ETC


LUNCH PROGRAM; THE ASSOCIATION PREPARES AND DISTRIBUTES SUBSIDIZED LUNCHES TO 300 - 400 ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED CITIZENS SIX DAYS A WEEK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.


OVERSEE THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CHINESE CEMETERY FOR THE CHINESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY, INCLUDING: (1) PROVISION OF INTERMENT RIGHTS; (2) CONDUCTING ANCESTOR-WORSHIP CEREMONIES AND COMMUNITY FESTIVALS TO HONOR DECEASED; (3) WORKING WITH FAMILIES TO ADVISE ON CHINESE BURIAL TRADITIONS, TRANSLATE AND PREPARE GRAVE MONUMENTS AND MARKERS, AND COORDINATE AND PERFORM CHINESE BURIAL CUSTOMS; AND (4) ARRANGING VOLUNTEERS TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO FAMILIES AND ELDERS TO REGULARLY VISIT CEMETERY TO HONOR DECEASED AND CONDUCT RELIGIOUS/ CULTURAL TRADITIONS.
