PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN INCLUDING PRE-SCHOOL, DAYCARE, ACADEMIC TUTORING, SPECIALIZED YOUTH FITNESS PROGRAMS, TEAM SPORTS, NUTRITION EDUCATION, HEALTHY WEIGHT CONTROL FOR OVERWEIGHT CHILDREN & TEENS WHICH IS PEDIATRICIAN AND DIETICIAN APPROVED & DAY CAMP PROGRAMS.

FIT KIDS OF AMERICA'S AWARD WINNING PROGRAM HAS ACHIEVED RECOGNITION FOR IT'S UNIQUE APPROACH TO YOUTH FITNESS AND ACADEMIC TUTORING IN THE DIVERSE COMMUNITY WE SERVE. FIT KIDS OF AMERICA IS LOCATED IN A COMMUNITY WITH LOW SOCIOECONOMIC AND PREDOMINANTLY HISPANIC AND AFRICAN AMERICAN POPULATIONS. MOST OF OUR STUDENTS COME FROM HOMES WHERE ENGLISH IS THE SECOND LANGUAGE OR NOT SPOKEN AT ALL. THE FIT KIDS STUDY ISLAND TUTORING PROGRAM (OFFERED IN SPANISH AND CREOLE) HAS HELPED HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN ACCOMPLISH FLUENCY IN THEIR READING/WRITING AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS. THE HISPANIC AND AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES STATISTICALLY HAVE THE HIGHEST NUMBERS OF OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE CHILDREN. FIT KIDS HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL HELPING CHILDREN RAISE THEIR SELF-ESTEEM WHILE ACHIEVING HEALTHY WEIGHT CONTROL IN OUR PROGRAM THAT IS PEDIATRICIAN AND DIETITIAN APPROVED. FIT KIDS OF AMERICA HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE THESE MUCH NEEDED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BY FACILITATING SCHOLARSHIPS THAT SECURE THE CHILDREN'S PARTICIPATION IN OUR PROGRAMS. THIS WAS MADE POSSIBLE IN PART BY FIT KIDS OF AMERICA'S COLLABORATION IN A GRANT THAT IS PARTIALLY FUNDED BY THE CHILDREN'S TRUST.
