THE MISSION OF DRESS FOR SUCCESS CLEVELAND IS TO EMPOWER WOMEN AND TO ACHIEVE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE BY PROVIDING A NETWORK OF SUPPORT, PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE, AND DEVELOPMENT TOOLS TO HELP WOMEN THRIVE IN WORK AND IN LIFE.

IN 2023 DFSC CELEBRATED ITS 25TH YEAR IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE ATTENDANCE AND RALLY OF SUPPORT AT OUR 2023 WWW, SIGNATURE EVENT WAS EVIDENCE OF OUR COMMUNITY RECOGNITION, SUPPORT AND APPRECIATION. THE ORGANIZATION INCREASED ITS OUTREACH BY PARTICIPATING IN A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF RESOURCE FAIRS AND JOB/HIRING EVENTS THAT RECONNECTED DFSC WITH PREVIOUS AND NEW REFERRING AGENCY PARTNERS, WHO WERE DISCONNECTED BASED UPON THE COMMUNITY SHIFT FROM THE PANDEMIC. SERVICING WOMEN IN GROUPS AT THE DFSC OFFICES ALSO RETURNED IN 2023, ANOTHER RECOVERY IMPACT FROM THE PANDEMIC.
IN 2023, OUR DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS WERE OFFERED MAINLY VIRTUAL, WE PROVIDED 35 VIRTUAL SESSIONS BETWEEN OUR EVENING POWERFUL WOMENS GROUP (18 SESSIONS) AND MIDDAY LUNCH-N-LEARNS (13 SESSIONS) AND 5 ON-DEMAND SESSIONS WERE UTILIZED THAT IMPACTED 170 PARTICIPANTS. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDED 884 PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE APPOINTMENTS AND HOSTED 4 GROUP DAY SERVICES IN OUR OFFICES THAT SERVED 34 WOMEN; CONDUCTED 13 IN THE COMMUNITY BOUTIQUE ON WHEELS IMPACTING 713 OF TOTAL 953 WOMEN SERVED IN 2023.
DFSC CHANGED EXPANDED ITS SERVICE DELIVERY METHOD TO INCLUDE THE CONCEPT OF MEETING WOMEN WHERE THEY ARE. AS A RESULT, IN 2023 DFSC INCREASED THE NUMBER WOMEN SERVED BY 65%, 953 WOMEN IN 2023 FROM 585 IN 2022; 79% OF OUR SERVICES IN 2023 WERE CONDUCTED EXTERNAL OUR BRICK-AND-MORTAR ENVIRONMENT. THIS CHANGE INCREASED OUR VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FROM 52 IN 2022 TO 64 IN 2023. ADDITIONALLY, WE EXPANDED STAFF SUPPORT FROM 3 TO 4 AND INCREASED BOARD SUPPORT BY 73%, (11-2022 TO 19-2023).
