PRESERVE CALAVERA HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2021LEAD BI-MONTHLY WATER QUALITY COLLECTIONS, TESTING AND ANALYSIS OF THREE NORTH COUNTY WATERSHEDS. THE VALIDATED DATA USED TOWARDS IMPROVING NORTH COUNTY WATERSHEDS.PUBLIC OUTREACH IN NORTH COUNTY REGARDING LOCAL EMISSIONS IMPACTING GREENHOUSE GASES.LEAD LOCAL CITIZEN SCIENTISTS PROJECTS (E.G. LOCAL VILLAGE H BIOLOGICAL MONITORING) WHICH ENGAGES AND INFORMS THE COMMUNITY ON ISSUES RELATED TO LAND PRESERVATION, WILDLIFE APPRECIATION, NATIVE PLANTS, AND WATER QUALITY. LED MULTIPLE GROUPS AND CITY TO ESTABLISH THE NEW BUENA VISTA RESERVOIR PARK, LEADING TO A NEW PARK AND MORE OPEN SPACE FOR THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CA. GENERATE AND DISTRIBUTE THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, WITH A 37% INCREASE IN READERSHIP FROM PREVIOUS.PUBLIC EDUCATION: PREPARATION BY PRESERVE CALAVERA BOARD MEMBERS FOR THE 5TH CLASS OF CALIFORNIA NATURALISTS (CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA CONTINUING EDUCATION). WORKED ON INFORMING CITY OF OCEANSIDE AND THE DEVELOPER OF NORTH RIVER FARMS REGARDING THE BENEFITS OF DESIGNATED AGRICULTURE LAND, REDUCTION IN GREENHOUSE GASES VIA REDUCED EMISSIONS METHODS, SMART GROWTH, AND LAND PRESERVATION.
