THE MISSION OF THE SAN DIEGO FUTURES FOUNDATION IS TO IMPROVE LIVES IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY BY MAKING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE TO UNDERSERVED INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIOS AND DISADVANTAGED SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGH TRAINING, EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT.

Part 3 - Line 4a

RETAIL OPERATIONS OF RECYCLED COMPUTERS TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES AND CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS DONATED FOR THE COST OF REFURBISHING. THE COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY CENTER PROVIDES TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION AND COMPUTERS FOR THE LOW COST OF REFURBISHING, AS WELL AS REPAIR AND WARRANTY SERVICES TO QUALIFIED COMMUNITY MEMBERS. SALVAGE PROGRAM RECYCLES COMPUTERS AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IN AN ECO-FRIENDLY MANNER.SINCE INCEPTION, THE ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED MORE THAN 62,586 COMPUTERS TO SAN DIEGO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. THESE CONSIST OF DONATED EQUIPMENT THAT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED AND UPDATED.


DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAMS INCLUDE IN-PERSON AND HYBRID TRAINING AT OUR LOCATION OR AT PARTNER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO, WITH THE INTENTION OF SUPPORTING THOSE WHO NEED HELP CONNECTING TO TECHNOLOGY FROM BASIC TO MORE ADVANCED LEVELS. THIS INCLUDES SENIOR DIGITAL LITERACY, WHICH EMPOWERS SENIORS TO UNLOCK THE FULL POTENTIAL OF TECHNOLOGY, AND ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY, WHICH TRAINS INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR NEAR-BLIND TO USE COMPUTERS.
