MISS OCJA: THIS PROGRAM SELECTS A YOUNG WOMAN TO REPRESENT ORANGE COUNTY AND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL NISEI WEEK QUEEN'S PAGEANT AND FESTIVAL IN LOS ANGELES CA BY SELECTING A MISS OCJA WE HAVE A REPRESENTATION TO HELP FOSTER A BETTER UNDERSTANDING AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THE JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY. BECAUSE OF COVID-19 THERE WAS NO MISS OCJA SELECTED AND NO PAGEANT HELD.
TIME CAPSULE: A TIME CAPSULE WILL BE BURIED IN THE JAPANESE TEA GARDEN IN THE ORANGE COUNTY CIVIC CENTER. THE DEDICATION OF THE TEA GARDEN WAS SUPPOSE TO TAKE PLACE IN 2020 BUT BECAUSE OF COVID-19 IT WAS POSTPONED.
NIKKEI GAMES: THIS PROGRAM INCORPORATES VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS IN ORANGE COUNTY AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO COME TOGETHER AND PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS SPORTS COMPETITIONS. THESE COMPETITIONS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND ARE IMPLEMENTED TO HELP PROMOTE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY AND THE JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY. ALL REVENUE IS DERIVED FROM SPONSORS AND PARTICIPANT FEES. BECAUSE OF COVID-19 NO ACTIVITIES WERE HELD IN 2020. THE EXPENSES WERE FOR LATE REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTS FROM 2019.
STATUE: THIS PROGRAM IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT A STATUE IN MILE SQUARE PARK FOUNTAIN VALLEY CA THIS STATUE WILL DEPICT THE HISTORY OF THE JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS STATUE WILL BE ADDED TO THE ALREADY BUILT STATUES OF RONALD REAGAN VIETNAM'S 13TH CENTURY GENERAL TRAN HUNG DAO AND MEXICO'S REVOLUTIONARY PRIEST MIGUEL HIDALGO.
