WE ARE DEDICATED TO THE RESCUE AND ADOPTION OF RACING GREYHOUNDS AND THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC AWARENESS TO THE PLIGHT OF GREYHOUNDS. PLACING GREYHOUNDS IN QUALIFIED, LOVING AND, RESPONSIBLE HOMES IS THE PRIMARY MISSION OF OPERATION GREYHOUND.

IN 2021 WE RESCUED 77 GREYHOUNDS WHICH WERE RELINQUISHED BY RACING KENNELS OR SHELTERS. DURING 2021 WE ADOPTED 74 GREYHOUNDS TO QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS OR COUPLES, OR FAMILIES IN CALIFORNIA AND ADJACENT STATES. EIGHT OF THE ADOPTED GREYHOUNDS WERE WAITING ADOPTION FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR 2020. WE CONTINUE TO OPERATE A HOSPICE FOR EX-RACERS THAT HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS OR ARE TOO OLD, INJURED, OR ILL TO BE PLACED FOR ADOPTION. IN ADDITION, WE RE-ADOPT RELINQUISHED GREYHOUNDS FROM ALL GREYHOUND ORGANIZATIONS OR SHELTERS. IN MOST CASES OLDER RELINQUISED GREYHOUNDS ARE RE-HOMED WITH NO ADOPTION FEES.WE CONTINUE TO WORK TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE EXPLOITATION OF RACING GREYHOUNDS THROUGH OUR WEB SITE, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND PROMOTIONAL EVENTS. THROUGH OUR WEB SITE, WE CONTINUE TO GENERATE NUMEROUS INQUIRIES FROM POTENTIAL ADOPTERS THROUGHOUT THE US. WE CONTINUE TO MAKE MANY REFERRALS TO OTHER RESCUE GROUPS OUTSIDE OF OUR SERVICE AREA.
