PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE FOR SAN DIEGO STUDENTS TO COMPLETE AN ASSOCIATES DEGREE.

SEE SCHEDULE O. THE SOL PRICE RETAILING/SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM BENEFITS THE SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY BY GIVING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDENTS ATTENDING CITY COLLEGE, THUS FURTHERING THE MISSION OF THE SAN DIEGO FOUNDATION.PRICE SCHOLARS RECEIVE ASSISTANCE TO FULFILL THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS. SUCH ASSISTANCE INCLUDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE, AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING. IN EXCHANGE FOR THIS ASSISTANCE, PRICE SCHOLARS ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM 200 TO 300 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE OR INTERNSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY EACH YEAR THEY ARE ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM.THE PRICE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM HELPS PREPARE STUDENTS FOR THE JOB MARKET BY ENCOURAGING AND ASSISTING THEM IN OBTAINING A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OR AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE. THEY ARE ALSO PROVIDED WITH VALUABLE EXPERIENCE THROUGH STRUCTURED JOB SHADOWING, COMMUNITY SERVICE ASSIGNMENTS, AND INTERNSHIPS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY AGENCIES, SCHOOLS, AND BUSINESSES IN THE CITY HEIGHTS, BALBOA PARK, AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY OF SAN DIEGO. THE INVOLVEMENT IN COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES IS COORDINATED FOR THESE SCHOLARSHIP PARTICIPANTS. THESE ACTIVITIES BENEFIT THE PARTICIPANT'S PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS AS WELL AS THE GREATER COMMUNITY.NO NEW SCHOLARS WERE ADMITTED INTO THE NEW 2019-2021 COHORT PROGRAM AS THE PRICE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS SUNSETTING.
