THE MISSION OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE GAMES IS TO PROMOTE AND NURTURE THE HEALTH EDUCATION AND WELL-BEING OF RESIDENTS BY MANAGING A HIGH QUALITY AMATEUR SPORTS EVENT THAT ENCOURAGES PARTICIPATION AND PROVIDES AN OLYMPIC-STYLE EXPERIENCE.

THE 2021 CALIFORNIA STATE GAMES WERE HELD IN SAN DIEGO IN THE MONTH OF JULY. PARTICIPATING WERE 3,419 ATHLETES COMPETING IN 10 SPORTS. THE CAL STATE GAMES WERE SEEN BY 8,500 PEOPLE. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE CAL STATE GAMES IS TO HOST A HIGH QUALITY SPORTS EVENT THAT INCLUDES ATHLETES FROM THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA AND NEIGHBORING STATES. THE TEN SPORTS INCLUDED WERE ARCHERY BMX DIVING FIELD HOCKEY FOOTGOLF ICE HOCKEY - ADULT POWERLIFTING SOFTBALL TRACK & FIELD WATER POLO WEIGHTLIFTING AND WRESTLING.


2021 CALIFORNIA WINTER GAMES WERE HELD IN SAN DIEGO IN MARCH. PARTICIPATING WERE 389 ATHLETES COMPETING IN FIGURE SKATING AND ROLLER SKATING. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE WINTER GAMES IS TO HOST A HIGH QUALITY SPORTS EVENT THAT INCLUDES ATHLETES FROM NOT ONLY CALIFORNIA BUT THROUGHOUT THE US AND CANADA.
