THE SOCIETY'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF THE NEURAL BASES OF ANIMAL BEHAVIOR, A FIELD KNOWN AS NEUROETHOLOGY. THE SOCIETY PROMOTES NEUROETHOLOGY BY PUBLISHING NEWSLETTERS; MAINTAINING MEMBERSHIP TO COMMUNICATE; SPONSORING EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS; PROVIDING GRANTS AND AWARDS IN SUPPORT OF RESEARCH AND TRAVEL; AND HOLDING INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF NEUROETHOLOGY.
