THE MARKETPLACE PROVIDES FRESH PRODUCE, MILK, MEAT, AND BREAD AS WELL AS SHELF-STABLE FOODS TO QUALIFYING FAMILIES, WHO CAN SHOP WITH US ONCE A MONTH. THE MARKETPLACE SERVES THE WHOLE FAMILY. WE AVERAGED 135-150 HOUSEHOLDS PER MONTH, SERVING AGES 0-80+. 3,148 INDIVIDUALS. RECEIVED FOOD FROM THE MARKETPLACE.


MEAC PROVIDES EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (EFA) TO HOUSEHOLDS TO AVOID EVICTION, FORECLOSURE, OR UTILITY DISCONNECTIONS. DURING THE 2021-22 FISCAL YEAR 144 HOUSEHOLDS WERE ABLE TO RECEIVE THESE CRITICAL SUPPORTS. AN EXTENSION OF EFA IS ENHANCE YOUR LIFE (EYL), A PERSONALIZED AND CLIENT-DIRECTED STABILIZATION PROGRAM OFFERED TO NEIGHBORS AS THE NEXT STEP BEYOND EFA. THE PROGRAM OFFERS STABILIZATION SUPPORT, GUIDANCE FOR INCREASING HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND LIMTED FINANCIAL BENEFITS, EMPLOYEMENT ASSISTANCE, HOUSEHOLD EXPENSE ASSESSMENTS, AND FOCUSES ON NEIGHBORS STAYING IN THEIR HOME AND COMMUNITY OF CHOICE. 40 HOUSEHOLDS PARTICIPATED IN EYL.


MEAC IS A LONG-TIME PARTNER WITH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THE JOHN P PARKER SCHOOL, SERVING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF THE SCHOOL. DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE LITERACY INTERVENTION PROGRAM WAS IN A PERIOD OF TRANSITION AND INDIVIDUAL INTERVENTIONS WERE NOT OFFERED. MEAC CONTINUED TO SUPPORT AND SPONSOR THE PARKER LITERACY NIGHTS AND READ ACROSS MADISONVILLE EVENTS AND PROVIDED SUMMER LEARNING MATERIALS.
