THE NEW LIFE DAY CENTER PROVIDES DIRECT SUPPORT TO PERSONS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, BRIDGING GAPS BETWEEN OUR HOMELESS NEIGHBORS AND THE OPERATING RESOURCES CURRENTLY EXISTING TO SERVE THEM AS THEY OVERCOME LIFE'S MOST CHALLENGING BARRIERS. THEY TRANSFORM LIVES BY FOCUSING ON INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AND NEEDS THROUGH FOSTERING ATTITUDES OF HOSPITALITY, RESPECT AND LOVE.

NEW LIFE DAY CENTER HAS ACCOMPLISHED 3 IMPORTANT GOALS IN ITS PROGRAMING DURING THE 2023 YEAR. FIRST, NLDC WAS ABLE TO RESTORE OPERATING HOURS TO PRE-PANDEMIC, FULL-TIME HOURS IN OCTOBER OF 2023. SECONDLY, NLDC WAS ABLE TO EXPAND SERVICES TO HOMELESS CLIENTS DUE TO THE EXTENDED HOURS OF OPERATION, CONNECTING MORE HOMELESS CLIENTS TO THE SERVICES THEY NEED. FINALLY, THE PANHANDLING DIVERSION PROGRAM AT NLDC WAS ABLE TO REGULARLY EMPLOY 31 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS DURING THE 2023 PROGRAM YEAR, OFFERING THEM GAINFUL DAYTIME EMPLOYMENT AS A DIRECT DIVERSION TO PANHANDLING ON THE STREETS OF LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY.
