RESEARCH THE HISTORY OF THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD (UGRR) IN CASS COUNTY --ADDITIONAL RESEARCH FOR CALVIN TOWNSHIP ROOM, THE QUAKER ROOM, AND BONINE HOUSE RESEARCH LIBRARY. FRIENDS OF BROWNSVILLE SCHOOL #1 FOUNDED, AND RESEARCH ON THE SCHOOL IS EXTENSIVE AND ONGOING.
EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT CASS COUNTY AND THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD. --HOSTED TWO UGRR WAX MUSEUMS AT THE BONINE HOUSE, UNDERGROUND RAILROAD DAYS DREW OVER 2000 VISITORS, CHRISTMAS AT THE BONINE HOUSE HAD OVER 500 VISITORS, TOURS OF THE BONINE HOUSE, CARRIAGE HOUSE AND BOGUE HOUSE JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER, UGRR SELF GUIDED DRIVING TOUR AVAILABLE ALL YEAR, OUR WEBSITE WWW.URSCC.ORG IS UPDATED REGULARLY.
RESTORATION OF UGRR BUILDINGS --RESTORATION CONTINUES ON BONINE HOUSE WITH INTERIOR STENCILING, GRAINING AND PAINTING. THE CARRIAGE HOUSE IS NOW A COMMUNITY FARM MUSEUM AND UGRR STATION, THE BOGUE HOUSE 1820S CABIN IS EXPOSED AND DISPLAYS UPSTAIRS WERE AUGMENTED. TOURS OF BONINE HOUSE, CARRIAGE HOUSE AND BOGUE HOUSE JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER. BROWNSVILLE SCHOOL #1 PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER.
