SMC FORMED TO RESTORE, MAINTAIN, AND PROMOTE PRIMITIVE TRAILS IN THE SISKIYOU BACKCOUNTRY AND TO PROVIDE OUTDOOR SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC. WE COORDINATE STEWARDSHIP PROJECTS, LEAD OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AND PUBLISH USEFUL INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC.

OUR WILDERNESS CORPS INTERNS PROVIDED OVER 5,250 HOURS OF PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNIZED BY THE NATIONAL CORPORATION FOR COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC SERVICE. EACH INTERN RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF SERVICE FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION. THEY RESTORED MORE THAN 100 MILES OF BACKCOUNTRY TRAILS ACROSS THE KLAMATH, ROGUE RIVER-SISKIYOU, UMPQUA, AND SIX RIVERS NATIONAL FORESTS.


OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM COORDINATED MORE THAN 3,250 HOURS OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND PERFORMED MAINTENANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES OF BACKCOUNTRY TRAILS ACROSS THE REGION. THEY WORKED IN THE KLAMATH, ROGUE RIVER-SISKIYOU, UMPQUA, AND SIX RIVERS NATIONAL FORESTS, AS WELL AS THE CASCADE-SISKIYOU NATIONAL MONUMENT AND THE OREGON CAVES NATIONAL MONUMENT.


OUR OUTREACH PROGRAM ENGAGED OVER 3,200 MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION ABOUT PUBLIC LANDS STEWARDSHIP THROUGH ONLINE PROGRAMS AS WELL AS THE COLLECTION OF MAPS WE DISTRIBUTE.
