THE CENDEL FOUNDATION IS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO FOSTER PHILANTHROPY IN CENTRAL DELAWARE AND PROVIDE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ITS CITIZENS. THE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO HELPING GENEROUS PEOPLE TRANSFORM THE COMMUNITY THROUGH CHARITABLE GIVING.

ENDOWMENT FUNDS INVESTED IN THE DELAWARE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES 5% OF THE PRINCIPAL EACH YEAR TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO QUALIFIED 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS THAT MEET THE GRANT CRITERIA ESTABLISHED ANNUALLY. A SEPERATE COMMITTEE REVIEWS THE APPLICATIONS AND MAKES THE RECOMENDATIONS TO AWARD THE GRANTS.
