THE SJH MEDICAL STAFF FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO HOLD, INVEST AND DISBURSE FUNDS DERIVED FROM MEDICAL STAFF DUES. THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO USE THESE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF STAFF PHYSICIANS' EFFORTS TO DELIVER HIGH QUALITY PATIENT CARE WITHIN THE ST. JOSEPH'S CANDLER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

MEDICAL STAFF LEADERSHIP SUPPORT. THE FOUNDATION REIMBURSES ST. JOSEPH'S CANDLER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM (SJCHS) HALF THE AMOUNT OF STIPENDS GIVEN THE OFFICERS OF THE ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF (PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, AND TREASURER) FOR THE TIME THEY SPEND IN OTHERWISE UNPAID LEADERSHIP ROLES ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE MEDICAL STAFF. THESE STIPENDS ARE PAID MONTHLY BY THE HOSPITAL AND THE HOSPITAL ISSUES W-2 FORMS AT THE END OF THE YEAR. THE ROLES ARE VITAL IN GUIDING THE GENERAL MEDICAL STAFF TOWARD IMPROVED PATIENT CARE.
