OPENED ESCROWS AND CONTINUED NEGOTIATIONS FOR PURCHASE FOR THREE OPEN SPACE PROPERTIES EXPECTED TO CLOSE IN 2023. 1. A 58 ACRE HILLTOP IN ROSS, CALIFORNIA ON THE BORDER WITH SAN ANSELMO, CALIFORNIA WHICH HAS BEEN ON MARIN COUNTY'S PRIORITY LIST FOR OPEN SPACE ACQUISITION FOR MANY YEARS AND WHICH CAME ON THE MARKET IN 2020. 2. A 9.6 ACRE UNDEVELOPED PROPERTY IN SAN ANSELMO, CALIFORNIA CONTIGUOUS WITH EXISTING OPEN SPACE PRESERVES WHICH, IF SECURED, WOULD BE INCORPORATED INTO THIS ADJACENT PRESERVE. 3. TWO TAX DEFAULT PARCELS, COMPRISING HALF AN ACRE, IN FAIRFAX, CALIFORNIA WHICH, IF ACQUIRED, WOULD BECOME PART OF CONTINUOUS PARKLAND IN FAIRFAX.


SUPPORTED PASSAGE OF MARIN COUNTY MEASURE A ON THE JUNE 2022 BALLOT. RENEWAL OF THIS ONE QUARTER CENT TAX ON RETAIL TRANSACTIONS WAS TO FUND CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF BIODIVERSITY, WILDLAND FIRE FUEL REDUCTION AND VEGETATION MANAGEMENT, AND DEFERRED MAINTENANCE IN PARKS, ROADS, AND TRAILS IN MARIN COUNTY OPEN SPACE PRESERVES.


CONCLUDED PURCHASE OF A CONSERVATION EASEMENT FOR 135 ACRES OF FORMER COMMERCIAL PROPERTY IN MARIN COUNTY'S SAN GERONIMO VALLEY, A PROJECT THAT MARIN OPEN SPACE TRUST HAS HAD IN THE WORKS FOR THREE YEARS. THE PROPERTY HAS TWO SALMONID REARING AND BREEDING HABITAT CREEKS AND THE PROJECT'S PURPOSE IS TO RESTORE THE SITE TO NATURAL CONDITIONS FOR CONSERVATION VALUES, RECREATIONAL TRAILS, OPEN SPACE, AND ESPECIALLY FOR SALMONID HABITAT ALONG THE CREEKS. RESTORATION EFFORTS TO IMPROVE SALMONID HABITAT ARE NOW UNDERWAY.


FACILITATED DONATION OF A TWO ACRE RESIDENTIAL PARCEL THAT IS TOTALLY SURROUNDED BY AN EXISTING SPACE PRESERVE IN SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA, IN ORDER FOR THAT PARCEL TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE PRESERVE. MAINTAINED MEMBERSHIP AND PARTICIPATION IN REGIONAL AND NATIONAL OPEN SPACE AND LAND TRUST FORUMS.
