1MATTERS.ORG CREATES AND FUNDS NEW LOCAL AND REGIONAL PROGRAMS WHICH RETURN PEOPLE TO FINANCIAL AND DOMESTIC AUTONOMY. THESE INCLUDE THE LOCAL COC, STREET PAPERS IN ANN ARBOR, DETROIT AND TOLEDO, AND PROGRAMS FOR RURAL AND STUDENT HOMELESSNESS. VETERANS MATTER IS OUR FIRST NATIONAL PROGRAM.

PROJECT CONNECT/TENT CITY: A WEEKEND LONG "FESTIVAL OF COMPASSION" WHICH UNITES THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY TO DELIVER ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT AND SERVICES INCLUDING A FULL-SCALE MEDICAL CLINIC, DENTAL SERVICES, WOMEN'S SERVICES, VETERAN'S SERVICES, HAIRCUTS, FOOD, CLOTHING, AND CRITICAL DOCUMENTS. THIS PAST YEAR OVER 800 UNHOUSED AND MARGINALLY HOUSED INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WERE SERVED.


VETERANS MATTER: VM WAS STARTED TO HOUSE 35 LOCAL VETERANS AND HAS NOW EXPENDED AND HOUSED OVER 6,000 UNHOUSED VETERANS IN 22 STATES THANKS TO THE HELP OF REGULAR AMERICANS, VETERANS GROUPS, BUSINESSES AND 20+ CELEBRITIES. PARTNERED WITH THE VA AND HUD FOR THE HUD/VASH PROGRAM, VETERANS MATTER HAS A 100% SUCCESS RATE HOUSING VETERANS IN A LONG-TERM VA PROGRAM THAT HAS A 91% SUCCESS RATE IN KEEPING VETERANS HOUSED.
