THE EIA BRIDGE PROGRAM BUILDS FOOTBRIDGES WITHIN ISOLATED COMMUNITIES TO ENSURE THEY HAVE YEAR-ROUND SAFE ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL RESOURCES SUCH AS EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE AND MARKETS.THE PROGRAM INCLUDES EIA CHAPTERS AT 17 UNIVERSITIES IN NORTH AMERICA AND EUROPE. UNIVERSITY CHAPTERS PARTICIPATED IN THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF SEVEN PEDESTRIAN FOOTBRIDGES IN BOLIVIA AND FIVE IN ESWATINI (FORMERLY SWAZILAND)AND ONE IN WEST VIRGINIA SERVING 27,535 PEOPLE. PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE OVERSIGHT AND MANAGEMENT OF UNIVERSITY CHAPTERS, EDUCATION PROGRAM, LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR TRAVELING TEAMS, IDENTIFICATION OF BRIDGE SITES AND APPROPRIATE COMMUNITIES AND CLOSE COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION WITH COMMUNITY, MUNICIPAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND AGENCIES TO IDENTIFY COMMUNITIES IN NEED AND TO SECURE PROGRAM SUPPORT.

IN 2022, PROJECTS IN TWELVE COMMUNITIES WERE COMPLETED INCLUDING WATER AND SANITATION SYSTEMS AND PROJECT ASSESSMENTS FOR FUTURE IMPLEMENTATION WERE COMPLETED IN FIVE COMMUNITIES.
