EG JUSTICE STANDS WITH THE PEOPLE OF EQUATORIAL GUINEA TO PROTECT THEIR RIGHTS AND DIGNITY AS HUMAN BEINGS. WE ROOT OUT AND CHALLENGE CORRUPTION HEAD ON. AS THE ONLY HUMAN RIGHTS ENTITY EXCLUSIVELY DEVOTED TO EQUATORIAL GUINEA, WE ARE A BRIDGE AND A PLATFORM FOR CHANGEMAKERS TO ENVISION AND BUILD A JUST SOCIETY.

PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2022: EG JUSTICE FOCUSED ON DOCUMENTING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS CARRIED OUT BY THE EQUATORIAL GOVERNMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE IRREGULARITIES SURROUNDING THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS OF NOVEMBER 2022. IN DECEMBER 2022, EG JUSTICE PUBLISHED A REPORT DETAILING THE MULTIPLE IRREGULARITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO RIG THE VOTE. THE MALFEASANCES RANGED FROM RESTRICTIONS ON FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY TO RESTRICTIONS ON FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, ARBITRARY ARRESTS, VOTER COERCION, INTIMIDATION, FRAUD, AND ATTACKS ON OPPOSITION MEMBERS. BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND DECEMBER 2022, EG JUSTICE WORKED WITH THE EQUATOGUINEAN COMMISSION OF JURISTS TO OFFER LEGAL REPRESENTATION AND HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS ARBITRARILY ARRESTED AND IMPRISIONED DURING THE ELECTION PERIOD, INCLUDING ANACLETO MICHA, LUIS NZO, AND FIVE OTHERS. EG JUSTICE SUPPORTED YOUTH GROUP VERSOS LIBRES' WORK, INCLUDING VIRTUAL COORDINATING MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE FALL OF 2022 TO DISCUSS MOBILIZATION EFFORTS, SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS TO DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS DETAINED IN THE COUNTRY, AND EFFORTS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF ELECTION IRREGULARITIES. EG JUSTICE COMMENCED WORK WITH A BROAD NETWORK OF SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS BASAED IN THE COUNTRY AND ABROAD, TO CONVENE A STRATEGIC GATHERING. THIS GATHERING WAS POSTPONED DUE TO THE CHANGE IN ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS FROM NOVEMBER 2022 TO FEBRUARY 2023. CODIGO GE, WITH SUPPORT OF EG JUSTICE, PRODUCED 12 VIDEOS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF ELECTION AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS DURING THE FALL.
