CALIFORNIA YOUTH CHINESE SYMPHONY (CYCS) PROVIDE VARIOUS PROGRAMS DESIGNED AND HOSTED BY OUR PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS. THESE PROGRAMS ARE HELD IN DIFFERENT FORMATS AND TIME THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ONE OF THE PROGRAMS IS TO OFFER CHINESE TRADITIONAL INSTRUMENT GRADE EXAMINATION. CYCS IS THE FIRST ORGANIZATION TO OFFER SUCH EXAM IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS EXAMINATION IS OFFERED AND RECOGNIZED BY THE CENTRAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC OF CHINA, ONE OF THE TOP MUSIC INSTITUTIONS IN THE WORLD. BY OFFERING SUCH PROGRAM WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A STRUCTURED AND WELL DESIGNED CURRICULUM TO OUR YOUTH DURING THEIR LEARNING PROCESS. CYCS IS ONE OF AUTHORITATIVE ORGANIZATION ON CHINESE INSTRUMENTS LEARNING IN THE USA. OTHER PROGRAMS OFFERED BY CYCS INCLUDE CHINESE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA COMPRISING 50-60 MUSICIANS AND ENSEMBLE OF 10-15 MUSICIANS. THERE IS VARIOUS CHINESE INSTRUMENTS CLASSES AND MUSICIANSHIP TRAINING. ANNUAL RECITAL WILL BE HELD TO ALLOW YOUNG MUSICIANS TO PUT WHAT THEY LEARN INTO THEIR OWN PERFORMANCE. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY EVENTS BY PERFORMING CHINESE MUSIC. FOR EXAMPLE, MUSIC IN PARK EVENTS, IN LIBRARY OR COMMUNITY CENTERS, CELEBRATIONS AND EVENTS HOSTED BY ASSOCIATIONS, COMPANIES, AND OTHER NON-PROFIT GROUPS. MOST PERFORMANCES WILL BE OFFERED TO THE PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE.
