HEALING HORSES KAUAI (HHK) BELIEVES ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN OUR POSITIVE, SUPPORTIVE EQUESTRIAN ENVIRONMENT. OUR CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND TRAINED VOLUNTEERS OFFERED WEEKLY LESSONS TO 580 CLIENTS, MOSTLY CHILDREN AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. HHK OFFERED SEVERAL HORSEMANSHIP CAMPS DURING SCHOOL BREAKS TO ABOUT 175 STUDENTS. THIS YEAR, HHK AQUIRED THREE NEW THERAPY HORSES: CHIP, ROWDY AND HINA. HHK CLEARED 8.5 ACRES OF ITS LEASED LAND TO REMOVE MOUNTAINS OF TRASH AND RE-FENCE THE PROPERTY. TYPICALLY, HHK VISITS THE LONG TERM CARE RESIDENTS AT KAUAI VETERAN'S MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND SAMUEL MAHELONA HOSPITAL. THIS JEWEL OF A PROGRAM WAS TEMPORARILY PAUSED DURING COVID BUT THANKFULLY HAS BEEN REINSTATED IN 2022.
