THE RENAISSANCE CITY CHOIR IS A LEADING ARTISTIC ORGANIZATION AND INTERACTIVE CONTRIBUTOR TO THE CULTURAL LIFE OF THE TRI-STATE AREA. BUILDING ON A HISTORY OF ARTISTRY, INVOLVEMENT AND PRIDE, RCC (1) PRESENTS INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY; (2) VISIBLY PARTICIPATES IN THE REGION'S CULTURAL LIFE; AND (3) MAINTAINS A FINANCIALLY SOUND ORGANIZATION TO SUPPORT OUR GOALS. OUR PROGRAMMING IS DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO THE WIDEST POSSIBLE AUDIENCE. WE COMBINE CHALLENGING, CONTEMPORARY MUSIC(INCLUDING MANY COMMISSIONS OF NEW WORKS) WITH AN AMBITIOUS, TRADITIONAL REPERTOIRE, BROADWAY AND POP MUSIC. THE RCC ACTIVELY WORKS TO ATTRACT YOUNG RESIDENTS OF THE REGION, BOTH AS SINGERS AND AS AUDIENCE MEMBERS. RCC SERVES AS A CHOIR-IN-RESIDENCE AT THE EAST LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. WE AFFIRM AND CELEBRATE LGBTQIA+ IDENTITY THROUGH THE UNIFYING POWER OF MUSIC. RENAISSANCE CITY CHOIR (RCC) PERFORMS 3 MAJOR CONCERTS DURING OUR SEASON EACH YEAR: THE HOLIDAY CONCERT EACH DECEMBER; A SERIES OF CABARET PERFORMANCES EACH SPRING; AND A SUMMER PRIDE CONCERT THE WEEK BEFORE PITTSBURGH'S PRIDE FEST. IN ADDITION TO THE CONCERT SEASON, RCC PERFORMS OUTREACH CONCERTS WITH A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS IN SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA AS PART OF OUR EDUCATION EFFORTS. AMONG THESE ARE PERFORMING AT THE CABARET REVIVAL IN WASHINGTON, PA SUPPORTING THE WORK OF THE WASHINGTON COUNTY GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE; SINGING AT THE REALQ FILM FESTIVAL; AND MARCHING AND SINGING IN THE PRIDE PARADE. RCC ALSO PERFORMS AT SEVERAL WORSHIP SERVICES AT EAST LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH DURING THE FALL (FULL INCLUSION SUNDAY) AND SPRING TO SUPPORT OUR HOME FAMILY AND WONDERFUL COMMUNITY AT THE CHURCH. EACH OUTREACH CONCERT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BROADEN THE EXPOSURE OF RCC TO NEW AUDIENCES, SUPPORT IMPORTANT COMMUNITY EVENTS AND LEND OUR VOICES TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR CAUSES RCC SUPPORTS AND BELIEVES IN. RCC'S MAJOR FUNDRAISING-STYLE EVENT IS THE ANNUAL OUT,PROUD AND SINGING LOUD. ADDITIONALLY, WE PAIR WITH LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES WHO OFFER FUNDRAISING PACKAGES.
