BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTSWE WERE ABLE TO PARTNER WITH CHOSEN NYC AND THE HAMILTON FISH RECREATION CENTER TO COORDINATE DIFFERENT BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS IN THE SUMMER OF 2022. WE HAD OVER 10 TO 15 TEAMS PARTICIPATE AND WERE ABLE TO HAVE SEVERAL TOURNAMENTS AND GIVE OUT TROPHIES. THIS COLLABORATION ALLOWED NEW LIFE TO SPONSOR THE COMMUNITY IN ITS EFFORTS TO BRING QUALITY BASKETBALL PROGRAMMING TO NEW YORK CITY TEENAGERS.SUMMER CAMPWE PARTICIPATED IN THE JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS. WE TOOK OVER 40 NEW LIFERS TO EXPERIENCE THE CAMP IN VIRGINIA. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME THERE AND SO WE HAD A LOT OF OBSTACLES AND CHALLENGES, BUT THE KIDS WERE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE HORSEBACK RIDING, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES NORMALLY NOT FOUND AT LAKE CHAMPION.GIFTS TO THE CITY BROOKLYN AND LESTHE FOCUS OF THIS EVENT WAS TO HIGHLIGHT OUR SERVICE PILLAR, AND WE DID JUST THAT. THE STAFF, YOUNG PEOPLE, AND VOLUNTEERS MADE ASSIGNMENTS A BREEZE. IT WAS A GREAT TIME WITH LOTS OF NEW LIFERS WANTING TO VOLUNTEER. WE ALSO COLLABORATED WITH TOYS FOR TOTS AND BEST BUY.
