FREE EDUCATIONAL AND SUPPORT PROGRAMMING: THERE WERE 3114 ATTENDEES OF 48 DIFFERENT FREE GROUPS, WORKSHOPS, AND CLASSES FOR A TOTAL OF 635 SESSIONS IN 2021. GROUPS INCLUDED TRAUMA SUPPORT GROUP, SPANISH-ENGLISH CONVERSATION, 65+ DISCUSSION GROUP, HEALING THROUGH CREATIVE ARTS (FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ABUSE) WRITING AND JOURNALING WORKSHOPS, KNITTING, SEWING, ART CLASSES AND MANY MORE.


DROP-IN RESOURCE AND SUPPORT CENTER: 1839 VISITORS PARTICIPATED IN THE DROP-IN CENTER IN 2021. THIS INCLUDED: USE OF THE WOMEN'S CENTER FOR REFUGE, EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE WITH COMPUTERS; RESOURCE INFORMATION; USE OF THE KITCHEN, COMPUTER LABS, PHONE, FAX MACHINE, COPIER, ART ROOM AND LENDING LIBRARY; MATERIAL GOODS, INCLUDING T PASSES, PREPARED FOOD; TOILET PAPER, HAND WARMERS AND MORE. ALL SERVICES WERE FREE.


INFORMATION AND CRISIS HELPLINE (JANUARY-APRIL 2021): 617 LOGGED CALLS IN 2021. SUPPORT WAS PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS 60 HOURS PER WEEK ON ANY ISSUES AND CRISES, INCLUDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND HELP IN ACCESSING RESOURCES FOR HOUSING,LEGAL SUPPORT, FOOD, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE,MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND MORE,USING OUR RESOURCE DATABASE OF OVER 250 AREA ORGANIZATIONS. BEFORE COVID THE HELPLINE HAD BEEN OPERATING ON-SITE DURING DROP-IN HOURS. IT CHANGED TO REMOTE OPERATION IN APRIL 2020 AND WAS DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN SINCE IT MEANT HAVING A SEPARATE SET OF VOLUNTEERS, A SEPARATE 60 HOURS/WEEK SCHEDULE AND A GREATLY INCREASED NEED FOR STAFF SUPPORT. IT WAS PUT ON HOLD IN MAY 2021.
