THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE EAST HANOVER TWP FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RELIEF TO ACTIVE AND RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE EAST HANOVER TWP FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE RELIEF IS PROVIDED TO THOSE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR SUCH ASSISTANCE AND DEMONSTRATE THE NEED FOR RELIEF. THE MONEY FROM THE ORGANIZATION IS DERIVED FROM THE NEW JERSEY STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION, WHICH IN TURN RECEIVES FUNDS FROM A LEVY ON ALL FIRE INSURANCE PREMIUMS WRITTEN BY INSURANCE COMPANIES CHARTERED OUTSIDE THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED NO RELIEF PAYMENTS IN 2022. RELIEF PAYMENTS ASSIST THOSE QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WITH MEDICAL BILLS AND DAY-TO-DAY LIVING EXPENSES DUE TO LOST WAGES FROM INJURY, SICKNESS OR OTHER INDIGENCE.
