PA-ACP HOSTS MULTIPLE EDUCATIONAL AND/OR NETWORKING EVENTS THROUGHOUT EACH FISCAL YEAR. THE TYPES OF EVENTS THE CHAPTER HOLDS ARE REGIONAL AND STATE- LEVEL RESIDENT/FELLOW POSTER AND DOCTOR'S DILEMMA COMPETITIONS, MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION (MOC) WORKSHOPS, AN ANNUAL MEETING, QUARTERLY COUNCIL MEETINGS, INTERNAL MEDICINE INTEREST GROUP (IMIG) STUDENT/MENTOR DINNERS, AN ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER, AND A STORY SLAM EVENT. IN THE PAST, THE CHAPTER HAS ALSO HOSTED NETWORKING EVENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL GRADUATES AND POTENTIAL ACP FELLOWS. THESE MEETINGS TYPICALLY DRAW BETWEEN TWENTY (20) TO 150+ ATTENDEES.

THE PA CHAPTER DEMONSTRATES MEMBER VALUE BY OFFERING SO MANY DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES; THIS IS ALSO HOW WE PROMOTE THE SPECIALTY OF INTERNAL MEDICINE. THE IMIG DINNERS PAIR MEDICAL STUDENTS THINKING ABOUT SPECIALIZING IN INTERNAL MEDICINE WITH SENIOR PRACTITIONERS TO DISCUSS CAREER DETAILS, ETC. THE REGIONAL RESIDENT POSTER AND DOCTOR'S DILEMMA COMPETITIONS SHOWCASE LEADING RESEARCH ABSTRACTS AND CLINICAL KNOWLEDGE VIA THE POSTER DISPLAYS AND JEOPARDY-STYLE GAMES. THE ANNUAL STORY SLAM DRAWS INTERNISTS FROM ALL CAREER LEVELS TOGETHER TO SHARE "HUMANISTIC" PATIENT EXPERIENCES AND ANECDOTES AND ALLOWS ALL INVOLVED TO SHARE THE HONOR OF BEING INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIANS. FINALLY, THE COUNCIL MEETINGS AND ANNUAL MEETING ALLOW FOR CHAPTER BUSINESS AND DECISION- MAKING/PLANNING DISCUSSIONS.
