MERCY CATHOLIC MEDICAL CENTER OF SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA IS AN ACUTE-CARE HOSPITAL WHOSE HISTORY STARTED MORE THAN 90 YEARS AGO AND HISTORICALLY HAS HAD TWO CAMPUSES. MERCY FITZGERALD CAMPUS IS A 183-BED TEACHING HOSPITAL LOCATED IN DARBY, PA, WHICH OFFERS ADVANCED ACUTE CARE SERVICES IN DELAWARE COUNTY AND SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA AND IS CONSISTENTLY RECOGNIZED FOR CLINICAL EXCELLENCE. MERCY PHILADELPHIA CAMPUS IS A 157-BED COMMUNITY TEACHING HOSPITAL SERVING THE COMMUNITIES OF WEST PHILADELPHIA. MERCY PHILADELPHIA HAS PROVIDED HIGH-QUALITY, COMPASSIONATE HEALTHCARE SERVICES IN A BROAD RANGE OF SPECIALTIES, EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. BOTH HOSPITAL CAMPUSES PROVIDE FREE CARE, SUBSIDIZE THE CARE OF MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PATIENTS WHERE THE GOVERNMENT REIMBURSEMENT IS BELOW COST, AND SPONSOR HEALTH PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE WELLNESS PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR THE ELDERLY, HANDICAPPED, MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED AND A VARIETY OF BROAD COMMUNITY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES. THE HOSPITAL OFFERS A FULL RANGE OF SERVICES IN AN INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SETTING AS WELL AS 24 HOUR EMERGENCY CARE, SURGICAL SERVICES, CANCER CARE, HEART AND STROKE CARE, BARIATRICS, AMONG MANY OTHER HEALTH CARE SERVICES.
