THE ORDER OF THE FRIENDLY SONS OF THE SHILLELAGH INC IS AN IRISH AMERICAN SOCIAL CLUB DEDICATED TO THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING AND ENHANCING THE FRATERNITY AND GOOD FELLOWSHIP OF ITS MEMBERS. IT DOES THIS BY MAINTAINING A CLUB HOUSE AND PROMOTING SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

PROVIDE SOCIAL, RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES FOR APPROXIMATELY 400 MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES OF COMMON IRISH HERITAGE BY MAINTAINING A 7000 SQ FT BUILDING ON 7 ACRES IN OLD BRIDGE, NJ. THE ORDER OF THE FRIENDLY SONS OF THE SHILLELAGH INC MAINTAIN A BANQUET HALL AND BAR AREA FOR USE BY ITS MEMBERS AND CONDUCTS OVER 20 SEPARATE SOCIAL, CULTURAL OR RECREATIONAL EVENTS EACH YEAR FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.


PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS OF COMMON IRISH HERITAGE THROUGH MONTHLY MEETINGS, WEEKLY CLASSES IN TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC, PUBLISHING A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, HOSTING IRISH ENTERTAINMENT AT ITS CLUBHOUSE OR COORDINATING TRIPS TO OFF SITE LOCATIONS AS WELL AS SUPPORTING GENEOLOGICAL RESEARCH FOR ITS MEMBERS.


PARTICIPATE WITH AND PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OTHER IRISH AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO PRESERVING OUR COMMON IRISH HERITAGE BY ASSISTING WITH THE PLANNING, PROMOTING AND CONDUCTING STATE WIDE IRISH FESTIVALS, TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC & DANCE EXHIBIITIONS AS WELL AS ST PATRICKS DAY PARADES THROUGHOUT THE REGION.
