TO FOSTER A SENSE OF COMMUNITY THROUGH MUSIC BY PROVIDING THE FULLEST POSSIBLE ARRAY OF MUSICAL EXPERIENCES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, MUSICAL ABILITIES, AND BACKGROUNDS.

IN FY2021, WE SERVED PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES, ABILITIES AND BACKGROUNDS RANGING IN AGE FROM 6 MONTHS TO 97 YEARS OLD. APPROXIMATELY 500 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN WEEKLY VIRTUAL PRIVATE LESSONS AND ENSEMBLES, AS WELL AS SHORTER-TERM CAMPS AND FESTIVALS. WE TAUGHT STUDENTS PREPARING FOR CAREERS AS PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 90 STUDYING GUITAR AND PIANO AND SINGING IN CHORUSES, AND A TODDLER IN FOSTER CARE RECEIVING DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY TO ADDRESS TRAUMA FROM AN ABUSIVE ENVIRONMENT. WE SERVED NUMEROUS STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS DUE TO PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, OR EMOTIONAL DISABILITIES, WITH THOSE SERVICES DIRECTED BY A FACULTY MUSIC THERAPIST AND A DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPIST. MUSIC IN THE COMMUNITY INITIATIVE (MICI) PARTNERSHIPS THROUGHOUT NH SERVED PARTICIPANTS WITH FREE MUSIC EDUCATION AND THERAPEUTIC SERVICES IN THE FORM OF CUSTOMIZED VIDEOS SENT TO OUR PARTNER SITES. OUR DIVERSE CCMS COMMUNITY INCLUDES STUDENTS OF AFRICAN, AFRICAN-AMERICAN, NEPALI, AFGHAN, MOROCCAN, SOUTH ASIAN, AND HISPANIC BACKGROUNDS. WE WORKED WITH STUDENTS WHOSE SPECIAL NEEDS INCLUDE SPEECH DELAY, ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS, BEHAVIORAL ISSUES, AUTISM, ADHD, DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY, ATTACHMENT ISSUES, SENSORY PROCESSING, AND TRAUMA. IN FY2021 WE OFFERED A RANGE CONCERTS, RECITALS AND WORKSHOPS, RANGING FROM FACULTY PERFORMANCES OF CHAMBER MUSIC AND JAZZ AS PART OF THE FREE BACH'S LUNCH SERIES, TO A LIVESTREAM SONGWEAVERS CHORAL CONCERT, A VIRTUAL MANDOLIN FESTIVAL AND CONCERT, AND A LIVE OUTDOOR PRODUCTION OF INTO THE WOODS BY OUR PURPLE FINCHES CHORUS. AUDIENCES INCLUDE OLDER ADULTS, HOME-SCHOOLED CHILDREN, MENTAL HEALTH CLIENTS, MUSIC EDUCATORS, CCMS FAMILIES, DOWNTOWN PROFESSIONALS, AND OTHERS.
