THE TOLENTINE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM HAS BEEN IN OPERATION FROM 1995 TO PRESENT PROVIDING A COMPLETE SCHOOL TO HOME PROGRAM FROM "LATCH KEY" CHILDREN. CHILDREN ARE TRANSPORTED FROM SCHOOL TO THE CENTER VIA VAN SERVICE, PROVIDED WITH BASIC HOMEWORK INSTRUCTION, SUPERVISED RECREATION, SNACKS AND A RANGE OF CULTURAL-EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING COMPUTER LEARNING THE PROGRAM SERVES AN AVERAGE OF 60 STUDENT/CHILDREN PER YEAR
THE TOLENTINE SUMMER CAMP PROVIDES DISAVANTAGED YOUTH FROM THROUGHOUT SOUTH PHILADELPHIA WITH TWELVE WEEKS OF SUPERVISED EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE FIELD TRIPS TO THE PHILADELPHIA ART MUSEUM OF ART, THE ACADEMY OF NATURAL SCIENCES, THE FRANKLIN INSTITUTE, THE NEW JERSEY STATE AQUARIUM, THE PHILADELPHIA ZOO, THE PHILADELPHIA MINT AND HISTORIC SITES.
